Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you ship?
We ship to the continental U.S. (includes Washington D.C. and excludes Alaska and Hawaii).

When do you ship?
We package and ship all of our items every other Tuesday. In order for your item to be shipped out on Tuesday, be sure to place your order by 5:00 p.m. CST Monday.

Isn't shipping meat very expensive?
Currently we offer flat rate shipping ($10 per box) to the following states: AL, DE, IA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, WI, and WV. All other states will have shipping calculated based on weight of package and delivery location - usually between $40-80 per package.

How long will it take for my package to arrive?
All of our packages are shipped so that they arrive to you within 1-2 days. Expect to receive your package by Wednesday or Thursday.

How do you keep the meat frozen during shipment?
We ship using dry ice, which has a temperature of negative 109 degrees Fahrenheit and should keep your meat frozen until it arrives at your doorstep. If there is a shipping delay, you may find a little thawing around the edges. As long as some portion of the product is still frozen, it is still good for you to eat and has not been compromised! Do not refreeze completely thawed cuts because this will impact flavor. Instead, refrigerate and eat within a couple days.

How are your animals processed?
All of our cattle are processed by a USDA certified butcher. Beef is dry aged for 6-14 days, then cut to our specifications and vacuum sealed for maximum freshness.

What do you feed your cattle?
Our cattle are born and grow up on pasture. Their diet consists of their mother's milk and pasture grass until they are weaned at approximately 8-9 months old. They are finished - a term which means to fully prepare for processing - on free choice hay, a protein supplement, and corn grown right here on our farm.

Will you ever have 100% grass fed beef available?
Occasionally we will have grass fed beef available, but this is not on a scheduled basis. To stay up to date on our offerings, please subscribe to our emails and you'll be the first to know when grass fed beef is available.

What percentage of fat is your ground beef?
Our beef is 80/20, which means there is ratio of 80% lean beef to 20% fat.

How much fat is on your steaks?
Our steaks come with the standard amount of fat, which is 1/2 inch on all steak cuts.

Is there anything else I should know about the quality of the meat?
We are all natural - NO dyes, preservatives, artificial hormones, antibiotics, or steroids, EVER. Just good, clean, farm fresh meat.

How much freezer space do I need?
All of our packages fit inside a 12 inch x 12 inch x 12 inch shipping box or a 14 inch x 14 inch x 14 inch shipping box, which translates to approximately 1.6 cubic feet of freezer space or less. For reference, a small chest freezer is about five to nine cubic feet.

Can I customize my order?
Currently we do not offer a la carte orders. If you have a special request, please leave us a note in the comment box at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate!
